List of Fake Universities by University Grants Commission

 Public Notice issued by University Grants Commission With Complete List of Fake Universities.

    University Grants Commission in its Public Notice dated 7th October, 2020 has declared 24 self-styled Unrecognized institution as Fake Universities.  These institution are functioning in contravention of the U.G.C. Act, 1956.  These Universities are not empowered to confer any degree.  

      University Grants Commission has said in its notice that Section 23 of the UGC Act prohibits the use of the word "University" by any institution other than a University established under a Central, State/Provincial Act or an Institution deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act or an Institution especially empowered by an Act of Parliament.

 Further, the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 under section 22(1) provides that a degree can be awarded by a "University" established as per norms stated above.

Hence, University Grants Commission has listed following Universities as fake:-
